Who is this course for?
The course is suitable for anyone who may be required to respond to or manage a workplace spillage, including warehouse, manufacturing, maintenance, construction, facilities, cleaning, environmental, laboratory and fuel-handling personnel, as well as supervisors and managers.

- Understanding appropriate response procedures for chemical, oil, fuel and other liquid spills
- Understanding PPE requirements when responding to spillages
- Preventing spills from entering drains, watercourses and other sensitive areas
- Understanding the correct collection, containment and disposal of contaminated materials
- Understanding emergency procedures, including when to raise the alarm and evacuate
- Understanding the importance of reporting, recording and investigating spill incidents
- Applying safe working practices to minimise the impact of workplace spillages
Teaching and Assessment
Training covers spill hazards, risk assessment, types of workplace spills, spill kits, absorbents, PPE and containment methods. Delegates also learn how to respond to chemical, oil and fuel spills, protect drains and watercourses, manage contaminated waste, follow emergency procedures and report incidents, with practical spill response exercises included.

On successful completion, delegates will receive a Spill Kit Response Training certificate.
